From visual design to creating meaningful digital experiences
Every designer has a different starting point. My journey into UI/UX design began with a simple curiosity about visual design—how typography, layout, color, and composition can change the way people understand something.
At first, I was mainly interested in how things looked. But as I explored design further, I became more curious about what happens behind the visuals.
Why is this button here? Why is this layout easier to understand? Why does one website feel simple while another feels confusing?
Those questions gradually led me toward UI/UX design.
Discovering UI/UX
When I started learning UI/UX, I realized that good design is about much more than creating attractive screens.
It is about understanding people, identifying problems, and creating experiences that make tasks easier.
I began exploring the fundamentals of UX—user research, information architecture, user flows, wireframing, prototyping, and usability—while continuing to develop my visual design skills.
This changed the way I looked at interfaces.
Instead of asking only:
“Does this look good?”
I started asking:
“Does this make sense to the person using it?”
That shift became an important part of my design thinking.
Building My Design Skills
As I continued learning, I became more comfortable working with tools like Figma and exploring different approaches to interface design.
I started paying closer attention to the details that make an interface feel polished:
- Typography
- Spacing
- Color
- Grid systems
- Visual hierarchy
- Components
- Responsive layouts
- Interaction patterns
I also became interested in design systems and how reusable components can create more consistent and scalable products.
The more I practiced, the more I understood that strong UI design is not about adding more—it is often about knowing what to remove.
Combining Design With WordPress
Alongside UI/UX, I developed my skills as a WordPress Developer.
This became an important part of my journey because it allowed me to see the connection between design and implementation.
Designing something in Figma is one thing. Turning that design into a responsive, functional website is another.
My WordPress experience helps me think about real-world considerations such as:
Responsive behavior → Content structure → Reusable components → Performance → Implementation
Because of this, I try to create designs that are not only visually strong but also practical to build.
I don’t want my designs to exist only as beautiful screens inside a design tool.
I want to understand how they can become real digital experiences.
My Approach to Design
Today, I approach each project with a simple mindset:
Understand → Explore → Design → Test → Refine
I start by understanding the problem and the people I’m designing for. Then I explore possible solutions through research, user flows, and wireframes before moving into visual design.
Once the interface is designed, I use prototypes to understand the experience and look for areas that can be improved.
For me, the goal isn’t to follow the exact same process for every project. Different problems require different approaches.
What matters is making intentional design decisions.
What I’m Learning Now
My journey into UI/UX is still in progress.
I’m continuing to improve my skills in UX research, usability, design systems, accessibility, responsive design, visual design, and AI-assisted design workflows.
I’m also learning to focus less on simply mastering tools and more on understanding the reasoning behind design decisions.
Tools will continue to change.
Good design thinking will always matter.
What’s Next?
I don’t see UI/UX design as a destination. It’s an ongoing process of learning, experimenting, and improving.
My goal is to bring together my skills in UI/UX, visual design, and WordPress development to create digital experiences that are clear, useful, and visually refined.
I’m still learning. I’m still experimenting. And I’m still building.
And honestly, that’s what makes this journey exciting.
I’m not just designing interfaces. I’m learning how to create better experiences.
